Who doesn’t adore the Rock and Roll King? The wild brilliance, tremendous charm, and great entertainment talents of Elvis Presley were a gift to the world. His music is still played today and is, without a question, classic.
Elvis is undoubtedly one of the most well-known persons to have ever lived. This is true even if you don’t like his music or were born long after he became a pop culture phenomenon.
However, the tale of his ex-wife Priscilla Presley is less well-known.

While married to Elvis Presley, Priscilla Presley was part of perhaps the most renowned couple in history. They had a daughter, Lisa Marie, together when she was living with “The King” from 1967 until 1973.
Priscilla Presley was a Brooklynite who joined the world in 1945. Her Norwegian great-grandfather and her Scots-Irish and English grandmother made up her maternal ancestry.
Ann, Priscilla’s mother, was just 19 when she gave birth to her daughter. Unfortunately, Priscilla’s biological father, a pilot in the United States Navy, never got to meet his daughter or watch her grow up.
When Priscilla was just six months old, her father, James Wagner, perished in an aircraft accident. This was a horrible sorrow for the family.
Priscilla’s mother met an Air Force man named Paul Beaulieu a few years later. Paul eventually began to take on the role of surrogate father to Priscilla. However, Paul’s military service meant that he and his family relocated often inside the United States, as he was assigned to different air bases.
In Germany, we met at a party.
When asked to characterise herself at this time, Priscilla said, “a shy, pretty, little girl, unhappily accustomed to moving from base to base every two or three years.”
Priscilla, as a child, fretted about fitting in since she was going to have to relocate soon anyhow. But one extraordinary action would alter her life irrevocably.
Priscilla’s stepfather was sent to West Germany in the mid-1950s. When Priscilla found out she would have to move to a foreign country on the other side of the Atlantic, she was horrified. Of course, she had no way of knowing that she would cross paths with one Elvis Presley.
In Bad Nauheim, Germany, during a party, Elvis and Priscilla met for the first time.
Elvis was profoundly affected by Priscilla, a 14-year-old girl.
After two years, Elvis extended an invitation for her to spend the summer at his Los Angeles mansion. Later that year, she returned to Graceland to spend Christmas there.
By the following spring, Elvis had persuaded Priscilla’s family to let her join him in the United States. It wasn’t long before she was relocating to be closer to Elvis.
They were engaged on Christmas Day, 1966, and tied the knot in Las Vegas on May 1, 1967. Lisa
Marie was born to them the next year.

After the birth of their daughter in 1968, Elvis’ interest in Priscilla waned significantly.
The singer admitted to Lamar Fike that he had never wanted to marry Priscilla and that he “didn’t pull out in time.” According to the Daily Mail, his wife’s reaction to his suggestion of a “trial separation” was one of pure amazement.
Priscilla said in her biography that Elvis “had mentioned to me before we were married that he had never been able to make love to a woman who had a child.” According to Vice, this is what transpired after she gave birth to a daughter.
Even after their divorce was finalised on February 23, 1972, Elvis and Priscilla remained close friends and even walked out of the courtroom hand in hand.
The nicest thing about our relationship was that we still loved each other,” Priscilla remarked, adding that she got a divorce from her husband even though she still loved him.
Priscilla ended her relationship with Elvis so she could pursue her own business interests. Many famous people shopped at the Los Angeles boutique she created, making it a huge success.
Participated in Scientology services
She was the inspiration for Graceland’s transformation into a tourist destination after Elvis’ death, an endeavour that was a huge financial and cultural success.
She began her career in television in the 1980s, when she appeared on Those Amazing Animals as a co-host. The roles of Jane Spencer in the Naked Gun flicks and Jenna Wade on the long-running TV series Dallas were her most prominent ones, though.
Priscilla has not only been a successful model and musician, but also a member of the controversial Church of Scientology.
Pricilla’s family has undoubtedly had a major influence throughout her life.

Even though it’s been a long time since Elvis’ death, Priscilla still does everything she can to keep his memory alive. She has given permission to shoot in Elvis’s former house, Graceland, as well as at Graceland itself.
Priscilla, who is now 74 years old, has admitted to undergoing a number of cosmetic procedures to preserve her youthful appearance.
