A kitten that was initially no bigger than a remote control has grown into a full-grown lap cat who is effusive with affection.

The odds were piled against Roku the kitten when he was discovered outside without a mother. He and his siblings were discovered by a TNR (trap-neuter-return) rescuer, but he was the only one to survive.

The proprietor of Shelby’s Kitten SafeHouse (in Oregon), Shelby Thorpe, learned of his plight and rushed in to rescue him.

“When I first got him, he was just skin and bones and had eye infections and fleas,” Shelby told Love Meow. His appellation was derived from the fact that he was only marginally larger than the Roku remote.

Based on his dentition and maturation, it was estimated that the tabby was four weeks old, but he was only about the size of a two-week-old kitten. Despite his diminutive size, he displayed an extraordinary level of courage.
