According to James’ 35-year-old mother Kaitlyn McCallm, ltrasonds did not disclose the baby’s condition prior to his birth on August 19, 2021.
However, the new mother and her husband Tim, 41, became concerned when they observed that James’ back was developing scabs and lumps.
Kaitlyn told Soth wet News Service that the blemish resembled a birthmark that had become partially scabbed over. The blemish was a bit concerning, as it appeared as though something was wrong.
When the mole-like mark grew larger, his parents took him for exams and waited months for results. Kaitlyn recalled, “At the time, the doctors weren’t entirely sure what it was.”
