Martha Stewart graces the front cover.
In her first appearance in Sports Illustrated, the lifestyle guru landed the cover of the magazine’s iconic Swimsuit Issue. The 2023 edition featured Megan Fox, Kim Petras, and Brooks Nader as its cover models.
Stewart, aged 81, is the senior member of the group.
“When I heard that I was going to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, I thought, Oh, that’s pretty good, I’m going to be the oldest person I think ever on a cover of Sports Illustrated,” she said. “I don’t usually give much thought to my age, but I realised that this is pretty significant.”
For her picture session, the 81-year-old senior citizen jetted out to the Dominican Republic. She said that it was a “challenge” for her in an interview with Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb of Today, but that she was up to the task.
She tried on ten different outfits for the cover shot, but the one that was chosen had Stewart in a plunging white swimsuit with an orange shawl thrown over her shoulders.
Put your age in perspective.
Stewart, who at age 50 became the oldest person to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue, insisted that her age doesn’t slow her down.
A person’s actions, thoughts, and actions are more consequential than their chronological age when it comes to making friends and achieving success.
In a recent interview with InStyle, Stewart spoke about how people still see her as a “bona fide sex symbol” despite her advanced age.
“I work in education. I’m on a mission to spread the message that everyone can look fabulous. She added that she felt no shame in sharing her now-viral thirst traps with the world through social media.
Martha Stewart looks great! Her attitude towards ageing should serve as an example for us all.
