Michael Madsen’s son sent him a last text message saying, “I love you dad,” before the actor took his own life in Reservoir Dogs.
Hudson Madsen, the 26-year-old son of a Hollywood star, reportedly shot himself in the head after completing his first tour of duty in the United States Army in Hawaii.

“I can’t believe it; the last time I heard from my son was a few days ago, and he said he was happy, he texted me, ‘I love you, dad.'” Kill Bill actor Madsen made this statement to the Los Angeles Times.
There were no indications of depression. How terribly awful and sad. I’m simply trying to put the pieces together and figure out what occurred,” he went on.
Madsen and his wife DeAnna Madsen have three sons: Hudson, Kalvin, and Luke. Quentin Tarantino is Hudson’s Godfather. Madsen’s ex-wife, Jeannine Bisignano, is the mother of his two other boys, Christian and Max.
Posts from his 2019 bride Carlie on social media indicated the couple was doing well. Infertility issues, according to Carlie’s social media, led the couple to consider IVF.

On January 22, 2022, a week before his death, Carlie uploaded an Instagram selfie of herself in a hospital gown, disclosing that she had just had surgery to remove a tumour. “I just want to give a shout-out to my amazing husband!” she adds in the post. He has been really tolerant while I’ve undergone surgery to remove a tumour from one of my breasts (yesterday).
Carlie stated, “We were at the hospital for about 7 hours yesterday and while I was in surgery he went to target and got me flowers, comfy pyjamas, my favourite candy, and a card!”
The photos were taken at the Tripler Army Medical Centre, a Department of Defence facility in Hawaii. I can’t express how grateful I am to him for everything he’s done to aid in my rehabilitation.
A couple of weeks later, she shared a touching picture of herself and Hudson with the simple caption, “I miss you so much.”
Everyone was perplexed by the chain of events that led to Hudson’s suicide.
“He had typical life challenges that people have with finances, but he wanted a family,” Madsen said of the distraught 64-year-old father who committed himself. It’s unbelievable, since he was thinking about his future. I really don’t understand what went down.

Madsen, actor of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, also said that his son, a veteran who had served in Afghanistan, was dealing with mental health issues despite outward appearances of contentment. The actor elaborated on why his kid, who need counselling, quit going. Madsen asked for a military inquiry after hearing rumours “that officers and rank and file were shaming,” but the results have yet to be made public.
A month after Hudson’s suicide, Madsen, who is known for working on Tarantino’s violent comedies, was taken into custody at the Malibu mansion from which he had just been evicted. After posting bail for his trespassing charge, Madsen was free to go.
The actor has a checkered past; in 2019, he was arrested for driving under the influence after wrecking his SUV, and in 2012, he was accused of endangering the lives of his young charges, as reported by TMZ.

The actor came home to discover his adolescent son smoking weed, and the two had a fight. TMZ reports that Madsen and his young son got into a fight, and that when the police came, they saw several injuries on the boy.
According to the officers who arrested Madsen, he smelled strongly of alcohol. The son’s name was kept secret, but Madsen’s was made public.
The family issued a statement after Hudson’s death reading, “We are saddened and overwhelmed with sorrow and anguish at the loss of Hudson. All those who knew and loved him will always be illuminated by his memory.
On January 23, 2023, Carlie posts an Instagram homage to her husband, whom she affectionately refers to as “Lump,” writing, “…I can’t believe it’s been a whole year since we last spoke. The pain is still exactly as bad as it was back then.
When I wake up in the morning, you’re the first thing on my mind, and when I go to sleep at night, you’re the last thing on my mind.
How much I ache and how much I miss you, I just can’t put into words. Finally, she said, “I just wish you would have talked to me and told me what was going on that day.
” Please know how sad I am that you found this to be the only solution. I’m very sorry that I wasn’t able to do more and that I missed the warning flags. I’m sorry I disappointed you. You have my undivided attention and thoughts at all times. Lump, I love you and miss you very much.
