It’s tough to imagine a bright future once your life has fallen apart. However, hope always finds a way to shine through the darkness.
When Courtney Hill’s husband Bryan was stolen from her and their children, she learned this lesson the hard way.
Bryan served in the United States Army for several years, including tours in Iraq, Kuwait, and Afghanistan. He’s placed himself in some pretty precarious situations over the years, yet he’s managed to avoid injury every time.
After Bryan’s military career came to an end, he and Courtney anticipated a more carefree and joyful future.
However, they were unaware that impending doom was only around the corner.

Bryan was killed in an automobile collision in February of 2016. Courtney’s daughter Reagan also had to say goodbye to her great father after his death.
Courtney was soon occupied with all of the necessary tasks for the wake. Then, in the midst of it all, she learned that she was expecting a child.
At the funeral, Courtney comforted Bryan by holding his hand and telling him, “Sweetheart, you’re going to be a dad again.”
“Being a mother is facing fears you didn’t know you had and discovering strengths you didn’t know you had.”

Courtney’s grief faded as the months passed. She did her best to settle into her new routine.
Courtney’s terrible stomach ache made everything more complicated, unfortunately. She went to the doctor out of concern about a miscarriage.
And then Courtney received some further information that completely upended her life.
The scan revealed that there will be two boys and one girl.
My mouth fell open. She told CBS Chicago, “I was thrilled to have three more smiles that remind me of him.”

Unfortunately, there are significant hazards associated with carrying triplets, and Courtney got some terrible news at her second ultrasound.
Brady, one of the infants, had stopped breathing.
Both Miles and Harper, the other two newborns, were perfectly healthy.
Courtney’s two cherished children are her granddaughters, Harper and Miles. She is excited to have a family and see Bryan’s pride in his offspring firsthand.

Courtney often gets asked whether her children Miles and Harper are twins.
“I call them surviving triplets,” she explains with a beaming smile.
Miles and Harper, you have arrived in this world. At 12:59 a.m., 6-pound, 6-ounce Miles entered the world. At 1:04 a.m., his sister Harper joined the family, weighing 5 pounds, 13 ounces. Courtney and the newborns are doing well!

Courtney’s family is her source of support while she grieves the loss of her husband and child.
Bryan was a guy of courage and strength who also loved deeply. Since her children’s father died before he could meet them, she cherishes every moment she spends with them.
I’m grateful for my wonderful small family.

Courtney now values every moment she has with her adorable children because she knows firsthand how quickly joy can be lost.
Courtney’s family hasn’t had an easy go of it, but with the help of her friends and loved ones, she’s optimistic about the future.
