It’s heartening to see our favourite stars putting family first. Once their children are grown, we also get to see a different side of them as a parent.
Val Kilmer’s kids clearly adore their dad, as seen by the adorable images of them together they’ve posted on Instagram.
The sequel to the classic 1986 film is called Top Gun: Maverick. Fans of all ages were thrilled to see Tom Cruise reprise his role as Pete “Maverick” Mitchell and get insight into his past as a successful pilot.
However, millions of fans’ excitement was amplified by the news that Val Kilmer will be reprising his renowned role as Tom “Iceman” Kazansky for the film.
The actor’s recent health problems made the appearance of his character on television all the more meaningful to viewers.
Seeing Tom again, Val told the journalists, “was like no time had passed at all.”
Everyone was excited to see Val Kilmer again, but the two individuals who were arguably the most ecstatic were the ones who had been waiting the longest for this sequel.
His kids, Mercedes and Jack, were there. His daughter shared captioned set photos online. “I’m so excited to share these behind-the-scenes photos from the set of @topgunmovie ” Get out of here, Maverick!
Both she and her brother Jack are donning pilot hats and Jack is also wearing his aviator glasses. Jack also looks a lot like a younger version of Val Kilmer.
Perhaps Mercedes’s dad had to work on set, so the last shot was of him and his daughter hugging. It’s great that his kids got to go along to the set and see him work on his skill.
Newborn Jack is a dead ringer like his famous dad. Surprisingly, they look really similar!
Val’s health has been poor over the last several years, and he’s still having some issues. Even though he seems to be doing OK, we want the best for him.
Seeing a dad interact with his kids is always heartwarming. Our prayers are with Val Kilmer and his loved ones.
