The St. Joseph High School cross-country running team in Santa Maria, California, made the decision to invite the dogs from the local shelter for a run back in August 2016.

And the Santa Barbara County Animal Shelter staff was glad to give its canines a little sunshine and exercise.

“I am not sure who was more excited and having the most fun… the dogs or the kids,” team coach Luis Escobar said on Facebook, expressing how much fun the event seemed to be by all accounts.

I couldn’t help but grin when I watched the Facebook video of the run, and it seems that I’m not the only one. Hundreds of thousands of people, including coaches and runners from different schools, watched the film.
