Tina Turner’s connection with her stepson Ike Jr., and the heartbreaking reality behind it, is revealed after her death.

It’s still hard to believe that the legendary Tina Turner has died away.

After a long battle with illness, the (Simply) The Best singer reportedly passed away on May 24 at her home in Switzerland.

The legendary singer, often dubbed the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll, has been showered with heartfelt tributes. In light of all Turner went through in her life, nearly all of which she triumphed through, the outpouring of sadness is understandable.

After all, the singer’s ascent to fame from humble beginnings in Brownsville wasn’t quite a smooth one. She overcame adversity, including physical abuse from her ex-husband Ike Turner, to become a music industry powerhouse.

After her breakup with Ike, Turner severed all links in an effort to start again. The singer’s relationship with Ike’s children, whom she adopted after the couple wed, reportedly suffered as a result, according to sources.

Ike Turner Jr. is a Grammy-winning producer and musician today. He is the son of Ike Turner and Tina Turner. However, his path to success was anything from easy, much like Turner’s.

Although he lost his mother at a young age when Ike Turner and Lorraine Taylor divorced, he gained a new mother figure when his father started dating Tina Turner.

Tina became Ike Turner Jr. and Michael Turner’s stepmother after their parents’ marriage.

Their father had six wives, so the children were used to new women in their life, but Tina seems to have taken on the role of “mother” for the children.

It’s common knowledge at this point that Tina was subjected to years of physical and emotional abuse at the hands of Ike throughout their marriage. Then, one day, she had the resolve to go away, abandoning Ike and his kids.

Ike Jr. was deeply affected by Turner’s departure, and not only because she had been instrumental in preparing him to follow in his parents’ musical footsteps.

During an interview, Ike Jr. revealed, “My father pulled me out of school at 13. I ended up managing his recording studio and hitting the road with him and his band. My father had me count the money they earned on tour until my hands became white.

After marrying Ike Sr. for 16 years, sources say that Turner’s connection with Ike Jr. and his brother Michael deteriorated to the point that they no longer talked with the lady who had been their stepmother for so long.

Ike Jr. previously said that he didn’t think his brothers and sisters had heard from their stepmother since about the year 2000.

But Ike Jr. went on to have his own professional success, winning a Grammy for an album he produced for his father in 2007.

Turner moved to Switzerland in 1995 and became a Swiss citizen with her 2013 marriage to Erwin Bach. They settled in Lake Zurich, where Tina had been a resident until her recent death.
