Toby Keith isn’t making music while he’s not in the studio, so what else is he doing? In order to diversify his holdings, the passionate angler recently bought the Luck E Strike bait and gear company. The news was shared by the country music artist on Instagram on May 24.
The announcement is HUGE…They announced on Instagram that “Toby has acquired Luck E Strike,” a well recognised manufacturer of fishing equipment.
To keep up with the latest news on the company’s relaunch this summer with new goods and a new appearance (including some red, white, and blue packaging! ), be sure to follow @luck.e.strike on Twitter.
The video shows Toby Keith making a good grab on the lip. In the comments, his adoring public lauded his shrewdness as an investor and, of course, the ‘keeper’ he was flaunting. Former customers of the bait and tackle manufacturer are eager to see how he would reinvigorate the business.
Toby Keith made a statement expanding on the circumstances surrounding the sale once it became public knowledge. When Toby expressed interest in purchasing Luck E Strike, his buddy Jeff Williams, the company’s current General Manager, contacted him.
Toby was enthusiastic about the opportunity since he had been a loyal customer for many years. They’re steeped in tradition. “It’s one of the earliest fishing brands that’s carried by every major retailer in the country,” he added of the tackle and bait manufacturer. The quality of “this team” and “this brand” are “self-evident.”
Toby Keith acknowledges that sales hasn’t been declining, but he is committed to reviving the company and promises to “build that back up” by introducing new rod-and-reel sets, clothing, fishing gadgets, and tackle systems. He’s determined to reestablish the company’s standing in the market.
“They needed a new focus and vision and I happened to be standing at the door ready to pick up the pieces,” Keith concluded. It helps that I’m a sentimental old soul, but wow, this is good stuff. Professional fishermen I know have all said they would use my gear if I could get it to them.
Good fortune, E-Strike Ambassador! Toby Keith gets high marks from Jimmy Houston
In the world of fishermen, Jimmy Houston needs no introduction. He has been an ESPN presenter for over two decades and is a professional fisherman who was elected into the National Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame in 1990. In the past, he was also one of Luck E Strike’s most prominent advocates.
Toby Keith is not just a great singer and composer, but also an outstanding citizen of the United States. Houston said, “I’m glad to see the fire in my good friend’s eyes because tying those two together in an American lure company known for making outstanding bass and crappie lures at great prices is so exciting.”
“It’s a big deal for the fishing industry as a whole to have him involved and bringing this brand back to where it ought to be,” Houston said. Toby Keith agreed with Houston, calling him “one of three big legends in the fishing world” and recognising Houston’s importance to the firm.
Houston “has been a spokesperson for Luck E Strike for decades, and he first began making his Redman Spinners out of nappy pins and selling them to Walmart,” Keith claimed. The firm plans to reopen this summer, which has already generated considerable excitement among fishermen.
