Tragic death of a 3-year-old kid in a vehicle accident on the route to his own birthday celebration.

If you’re a parent, you want more than anything to make your kid feel special and appreciated. When a day to remember became a nightmare, one family went through hell.

Instead of a birthday party, they were making funeral arrangements. What a tragic tale.

When tragedy struck, three-year-old Josiah Toleafoa was on his way to Play City to celebrate his birthday with other kids. The incident occurred in the parking lot of Play City, an indoor party facility for children located in the Chula Vista neighbourhood of San Diego.

A witness described how Josiah’s mother sobbed uncontrollably as paramedics fought to save her son’s life. Josiah died at Rady Children’s Hospital despite everyone’s best attempts.

According to the Shutterstock police, the 36-year-old driver remained at the site and cooperated with investigators. The police report states that neither drugs nor alcohol were factors in the incident.

Members of the family turned to crowdfunding platform GoFundMe to raise money for Josiah’s burial costs. They said he was a kind, caring kid.

“JOSIAH united the family; his radiant SMILE and loving heart brightened every room he entered.” There just wasn’t enough time to see his incredible feats. Tatiana Toleafoa, claiming to be the boy’s aunt, added, “I KNOW HE WOULD HAVE MADE A DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD.”

‘We’re doing this gofundme to aid with my darling nephew’s burial costs and services for the little angel who affected so many people in so many different ways before he was taken to Heaven,’ she explained, explaining the motivation for the campaign.

Honestly, even a little bit would be helpful. We want to be able to lay him to rest so that we may say our last goodbyes and never forget the young kid who loved with a big heart, and we are so grateful to have loving relatives and friends to be with us and love us through this terrible sorrow.

Play City’s owner has verified that he would provide $2,000 to Josiah’s family, and the building’s landlord will equal that amount.

No one has been arrested in connection with the accident as of yet, but the investigation is ongoing.
