Nobody is aware of how the malnourished puppy Riley got into such a dangerous predicament. He was terribly underweight and unable to walk, so Donna, his savior, took him to a neighboring animal shelter for assistance.
That evening, the shelter’s staff gave him a loving embrace and offered him water to relieve his thirst. Riley’s expression conveyed how appreciative he was to be getting assistance.
Riley was put into a little red wagon and pulled about the grounds by the shelter workers who wanted to help him rediscover the joys of being outside.
Riley was obviously happy that this tiny gesture of generosity made the staff as happy as it did him, as shown by the high five he gave them. Riley was sorely in need of this second opportunity.
